My double chocolate and almond banana bread is a chocolate lover's dream! It is the perfect way to use up your bananas and for you to elevate your banana bread game. The rich flavor that comes from the complex layers of chocolate paired with that natural sweetness from the bananas makes it hard to resist. It is easy in my top five desserts that are on the easier and less complex side of baking that taste good every single time. The key for this banana bread is to use a natural cocoa powder, not any of those pre mixed ones that have additives. My favorite brand of cocoa powder is from Navitas, it has such a good flavor and I buy a big bag from Costco and add it into absolutely anything that I can. While this may be considered an indulgent recipe it also does contain so many benefits. The bananas contain natural vitamins like potassium and fiber. Meanwhile the chocolate contains antioxidants and other beneficial compounds that make it both nutritious and delicious. It is also such an easy dessert or snack to give to others. When gifting banana bread to others I like to make a regular loaf and this loaf and interchange the slices to not only give a variety but it make it visually appealing to whomever I am gifting it too. One thing to bear in mind when gifting this banana bread is that it contains nuts so be sure to ask about nut allergies before giving not only this banana bread but any recipe to anyone. If you are a bigger baker or just not wanting to spend hours in the kitchen recipes like this one are perfect. They have an elevated feel when in reality you are using a lot of everyday items and once you put it to bake there are no additional steps or long waiting periods that sometimes come with the process of baking complex desserts. Truthfully in my house, the most tedious part of making this banana bread is emptying out the oven because we use it to store our additional pots, pans and bakeware. Other than that process, this recipe has always been smooth sailing for me. It also reheats beautifully and I love pairing it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or with a cup of milk. I hope you love this recipe as much as I do and my DMs are always open for any tips you may want/need…happy cooking!
