A dream of mine is to have tandoor oven in my house or kitchen one day. If you aren’t familiar with a tandoor oven, it's a oven that is traditionally used to cook chicken, paneer, naan, etc. and it achieves this beautiful char on everything it cooks as well as an unmatched smoky flavor. As of now, the only appliance I have that can compete with a tandoor oven is my airfryer. In this recipe in specific, the airfryer gives the chicken wings an almost identical taste and texture you would get when cooking the wings in an tandoor oven. Marinating the chicken wings yogurt, ginger and garlic paste and all the spices gives the chicken the opportunity to crisp up beautifully in the airfryer. On top of that these wings are great the marinate at the beginning of the week and the longer they marinate the more enhanced they taste after cooking, then all you have to do in terms of cooking is pop them into the air fryer. My personal favorite way to serve these wings is as an appetizer paired alongside my jalapeno ranch. It would also pair perfectly with buttermilk ranch, cilantro chutney or tamarind chutney. You can also very easily make these into a meal by pairing it with some rice or potatoes and vegetables of your choice. Also, simply pairing it with a salad and my jalapeno ranch makes a super easy and light lunch or dinner as well. I think this recipe is also a great way to introduce Indian flavors to someone who is not too familiar with Indian spices. Most people are familiar with chicken wings and with this balanced and flavor packed marination it makes the perfect introduction to these spices. This recipe is one of my more popular ones on my blog for a good reason. Besides being super flavorful and tender they are fairly easy to make. There is not much chopping or prep involved as it can all be done by simply adding in the ingredients of the marinade into a food processor then mixing it with the chicken in a bowl. In addition to that, other than flipping the chicken once the airfryer really requires little to no work compared to actually standing over the stove and deep frying the wings. Overall, this recipe is super well rounded and sure to be a staple in your household. I hope you love this recipe as much as I do and my DMs are always open for any tips you may want/need…happy cooking!
